It was always painful to lose one of these wonderful animals. I join you in your sadness over the loss of your dear Remus.

I could tell a bunch of stories about my time in Vietnam but am not sure to what you are referring. Yes, I served as an interpreter/translator of Vietnamese with an Army civil affairs company in an area about 60 miles north of Saigon(now Ho Chi Minh City) that was within 15 miles of the Cambodian border. My formal language studies also include Spanish, French, Italian, Russian and Japanese.

He happened to be on our floor ( celebs would visit from time to time) and I asked him “what was the first record you couldn’t get enough of?”. He thought about it and answered, Mel Torme and The Meltones. I thanked him and ran across the street to the Virgin Megastore and bought the cd. I called my folks immediately afterwards - I was so excited. He was so nice!

In 1971, humorist Martin Lewis compiled a Beatles bootleg discography for Disc magazine, inserting four song titles he'd simply made up: the John Lennon polemic "Left Is Right (And Right Is Wrong)," George Harrison's "Pink Litmus Paper Shirt," a Paul McCartney vaudeville-style number "Deck Chair," and another supposed Lennon track, "Colliding Circles". Yes, I served as an interpreter/translator of Vietnamese with an Army civil affairs company in an area about 60 miles north of Saigon(now Ho Chi Minh City) that was within 15 miles of the Cambodian border. My formal language studies also include Spanish, French, Italian, Russian and Japanese.
