Hi Mark.

Are you American peeps aware of the Ford Capri? It was Ford's attempt to recreate the US muscle car for the UK market. Much loved but also hilarious.
Avatar 12:24pm
Kevin / Ringwood / UK:

See if this link works for a Ford Capri mark 2 betterparts.org...
Avatar 12:24pm

@ Kevin: Yep! That was music for a Ford commercial

@ David: Nope -- don't know that car (of course, I'm not a car guy at all, so....)
  12:25pm
Mark Williams:

I spent much of my youth in Europe, so I'll taint the sample if you ask me.
Avatar 12:25pm
Kevin / Ringwood / UK:

The mark 1 Capri certainly came in a 1.3 litre version, which would be as far from a muscle car as you can imagine. The 2 litre and bigger were better

it's interesting to me what might've been called a muscle car in parts of the world where gasoline was 2-3X more expensive than here; and reminds me of GeorgyGirl's show a week or 2 ago featuring "driving music from the 60s & 70s"...for the most part quite different than what i've always considered driving music from the 60s & 70s.

Coela, you have to remember that cars in the UK in the 60s and 70s were incredibly slow and poorly-made and, in some cases, would literally fall apart at high speed. Hence it was a rather different motoring experience to that in the US... What kind of thing is 'driving music from the 60s & 70s' to you?

David (@1247) GeorgyGirl was talking about "cruising the boulevard" (roadtrip music is another thing)

I think that's pretty fair to say TDK. It's always been a religiously non-conformist borough, so has a long tradition of being a bohemian sanctuary destination for a motley band of incomers, from the French Huguenots to Thurston Moore. And yes, Tjinder from Cornershop lives just round the corner from me.
