	🥁 ♥ 6:04pm vanhooserd: When I moved back to Nashville from Georgia in Sept. 1990 I had just bought a 1979 Ford Futura with an AC that had died. I was told driving it with a non-functioning AC could damage the motor, so my late friend Paul helped me find a shorter fan belt & bypass the AC drive. Now I wonder if the motor really would have been damaged. I sold that car to Tracy, a trans co-worker, for $250.

The ac died, and we had to drive through The Badlands with the fan on to keep the engine from overheating. Maybe that's what they meant.

I was told driving it with a non-functioning AC could damage the motor, so my late friend Paul helped me find a shorter fan belt & bypass the AC drive. Now I wonder if the motor really would have been damaged. I sold that car to Tracy, a trans co-worker, for $250.

The ac died, and we had to drive through The Badlands with the fan on to keep the engine from overheating. Maybe that's what they meant.
