if the owner was there he'd at some point stop the music (which was Elvis Presley or Frank Sinatra) and require all patrons to stand while he recited the pledge of allegiance. if one didn't stand there was big trouble, apparently.
the place sucked anyway, but my girlfriend had child-nostalgia attached to it so we ate there a few times.
i never had the opportunity to have a fight with this guy. (as i would not have stood)
