Listening to Neighbors Noise is like staring at the ocean. The feeling I get is one of calm captivation that comes from being in the presence of something vast and unfathomable, and yet so real, you can dive right in. Every time I listen, I'm exposed to sounds that I'm quite sure I could live ten more lifetimes and never come in contact with. To cross paths with any of these remarkable recordings is like a stroke of luck. A chance encounter. But it is so NOT a chance encounter. It is an intentional encounter. Jesse is here every Tuesday, week after week, laying these epiphanies at our feet. The only variable is us. Will we be here to take it in. It just makes me feel so fortunate that I get to have this be part of my world.
