First time I saw The Replacements was at the On Broadway in SF. I was working backstage Security and after they finished I went up to Paul and said" who the f*#k are you guys?" We were all blown away. Being in SF we had never really heard of them. I took Tommy Stinson to a disco after the club closed for the night. Fun times!

I attended the secret "Gary and the Boners" show at CBGB in 1984. The ’Mats did maybe one original, and maybe completed three entire songs of the copious covers they (dis)graced us with. It was not a good show by objective criteria, yet it was one of the greatest shows I've ever seen.
