So good.

I enjoyed it but it hardly featured his guitar work. As expected, great archival footage of the early years. Even a uncredited Suzy Creamcheese. You could tell it was her by her voice.

The drum intro on their classic Peilitalossa album is so similar and yes, the drum sound on both is really of its time (the best possible way that is).

Keep tissues in reach. Mike Sin, when I was sitting next to you and answering phones at the end of last Marathon, I thought you were quite dapper! I'm sure a year hasn't Chigurhed you that hard! Julie, Kate called, and you did indeed brighten her afternoon very much -- which she needed after having a screw put in her jaw.

In 2 or 3 years, people are going to get sick of the keeping them and will start to sell them. They already depreciate crazy fast and they'll only depreciate more when the market gets flooded. I have 2024 circled on my calendar for "3rd owner" discounts.

I have this idea that Music Scenes are quite 'Darwinian' in a Gallapogos kinda sense: they have to be apart enuff to evolve something distinct, but they also have to be large & vital enuff to sustain it. Texas is uniquely qualified. & watching the documentary about Sarge Records - it's made explicit that the idea of Rock'n'Roll birthing spontaneously one particular afternoon @ an intersection in Memphis when Blues & Country collided in the mid1950 is reductive to the degree of being fairly false. In Texas - if you could Dance to it - people accepted it! There was of course Country Swing - but also every combination possible... Buddy Holly for that matter has Mexican influence - & I don't believe anyone says otherwise...

In 2 or 3 years, people are going to get sick of the keeping them and will start to sell them. They already depreciate crazy fast and they'll only depreciate more when the market gets flooded. I have 2024 circled on my calendar for "3rd owner" discounts.

I have this idea that Music Scenes are quite 'Darwinian' in a Gallapogos kinda sense: they have to be apart enuff to evolve something distinct, but they also have to be large & vital enuff to sustain it. Texas is uniquely qualified. & watching the documentary about Sarge Records - it's made explicit that the idea of Rock'n'Roll birthing spontaneously one particular afternoon @ an intersection in Memphis when Blues & Country collided in the mid1950 is reductive to the degree of being fairly false. In Texas - if you could Dance to it - people accepted it! There was of course Country Swing - but also every combination possible... Buddy Holly for that matter has Mexican influence - & I don't believe anyone says otherwise...
