I'm outside of Boston, where you can find great radio stations. But most of these Jass and Classical folks folks are just snobs. All these swing and big band aficionados were completely ignoring Les Baxter, Esquivel and similar artists. It was the next gen who were interested.

Mx. Granny, you are connected to your party.

Mx. Granny (e/em):

Feeling well received and glad to be here! Digging these wonderful tunes, as always, Jan!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 11:30am
WR:

A. you could easily do a whole season of programs of over 64 versions of St Louis Blues. B. these first two selections are performers rooted in early vaudeville or with Miller even minstrel shows, C. Louis Armstrong at his initial peak, becoming international star still primarily for his trumpet . interesting selections bridging changes in styles and times.

not to say that i already know about all the performers, particularly non-USA performers you have played, but when a performers is of style and time that I'm familiar with that I've missed it peaks my interest.

Listener Robert:

I'm in the rest of the world, listening to the archive just a few hours later.
  3:16pm
Listener Robert:

Funny that with the delay I've imposed, your playing of "Black Heaven" immediately follows Fabio's of "Black Sabbath".
  4:16pm
Listener Robert:

How bad could this lockdown be? No breathing out your window?
  5:20pm
Listener Robert:

This will have to become my regular listening. This morning while this was live I was listening out of habit to DJ Trouble -- this is indeed the trouble with WFMU, in that it produces more hours of "favorite programs" than we can possibly listen to.

Anyway, now that Rich Conaty's dead, and with him his Music for the Old and the Old at Heart, the Old Codger is not enough. You play a much wider range of material. Thanks for doing it.
