Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Let me guess, all the songs are going to have the word "normal" in them.

I've heard djs do entire shows of Caravan, and haven't heard this version!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 11/2/18 12:21pm Pedro in Arlington:

Hi Uncle Mike - Continuing the rant from Doug's board. All decent people must vote against EVERY name with an R next to it on Tuesday. The guy running for governor in Kansas is among the most vulgar from that dark, dangerous cult of personality that used to be a political party. No decent percent can just shrug off this election.
  Fri. 11/2/18 12:22pm dan:

The other good Caravan is a Dodge Caravan.

That Mills Bros. track was precious!
  Fri. 11/2/18 12:25pm dan:

Frances Langford was only 22 when she laid down this track. Good luck finding a 22 year old today who can sound like that.

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 11/2/18 12:52pm Pedro in Arlington:

Preach, Uncle Mike. Shitheads like Kobach in Kansas, DeSantis in Florida, Kemp in Georgia, King in Iowa. ANYONE with an R next to their name must be defeated Tuesday for the sake of American democracy. No joke. It's that bad.

UM ! ! ! ! ! !
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 11/2/18 12:54pm Parq:

I find myself f two minds on next Tuesday. I am not worried about the candidates for whom I will vote getting elected (although they will almost all be people I didn't vote for in the primaries), but I am pessimistic to the point of crushing depression over what's going to happen in elections over which I have no control. For what very little talismanic value it may have, I plan to decline the "I voted" sticker, which I have worn while watching my candidates lose three times in a row now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 11/2/18 12:54pm northguineahills:

I've only heard the Esquivel version of this song.

@Pedro: I'm so sick of the clumsy messages and poor production of the GOP's ads and mailers. I mean, they can't even hire a HS AV intern,,,, (I'm in FL, so, this really sucks).

Back when the Newport Jazz Fest had not yet morphed into the Corporate Sponsor Smooth Jazz and Pop Fest, I saw a lengthy tribute to Rasaan. Very old by then, he came out for the final segment of the night. Just him and a tenor sax -- just one sax. It was poetry.
