Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

![]() Oh, no...no Eurovision on the show. I've vowed to only use my power for good. If it consoles you, you may have this, which I made six ears ago...before I came to the light. ebs-radio.com... |

Hi all... Bummed, after years of listening to FMU through my office PC, the firewall has found me out and blocked me. Still able to connect with my phone, but hard to post (and be without my phone). I'll figure something out, but stinks!

When the Prince tune started, I thought it was gonna be Paul Nicholas' "Heaven on the Seventh Floor," only because yesterday I saw the Nicholas album for two bucks and almost bought it.
![]() |
Fri. 5/11/18 12:24pm
βrian:
@ Doctorjazz: Why would they do that? What's the point? |
Fri. 5/11/18 12:24pm
dan:
@Dean You should have bought the record. A $2 Paul Nicholas record doesn't come around every day.
![]() |

And it's only one "wafer-thn" record, after all. |
Fri. 5/11/18 12:28pm
Dean:
@dan: 63 copies of the LP at discogs from $2.00. @βrian: The "wafer-thin" rationale crosses my mind most times I add stacks to the collection. @UM: Same here. Mozart. Such a prick.
Fri. 5/11/18 12:32pm
dan:
Where did you dig this cover of Respect from?
![]() |
![]() i have to give a great promo for Tunein, the free-listening server i use for radio. when i first started using it, i just had a collection of stations available and i'm noticing now that are TONS of archived shows for the stations i listen to. the latest joy is finding hinky-dink in archive. i'd love to see WWOZ jump on that banwagon, but they only hold shows are two weeks; by that time i've forgotten the one i wanted to re-hear. Tunein is becoming a valuable resource for me and i'm sure for many others. they can keep the sports and news, i want the music..and it's free |

Fri. 5/11/18 12:46pm
Doctorjazz:
@Brian...I don't really think it makes sense, though they would say it saves bandwidth. I think it's for the same reason they have blocked Facebook and similar sites, to keep staff from "goofing off" at work. But, they have wifi, so the staff just uses that to goof off anyway (and probably slower that way). Ultimately, I just think administrators here are evil...

@ Jeff Supertramp can kick REO Speedwagon's wimpy ass any day.
Fri. 5/11/18 12:52pm
Dean:
I have this album, "Crime...," in a Mobile Fidelity remastered version in a big box, not even wafer-thin. Only 'tramp album I kept.
Fri. 5/11/18 12:52pm
dan:
Here's a question to the group. Who do you like better, Supertramp or Rush?
![]() |
![]() hi all. I feel like it means something that I tuned in right in time for Supertramp's Dreamer, but I'm not sure what. |
Fri. 5/11/18 12:53pm
Dean:
Only Rush I can stomach is that awesome DJ Cummerbund remix from a year or two ago, YY Milk.
![]() |
![]() Agreed. It's not often I reveal my ignorance so blatantly. (Usually I do it more surreptitiously.) |
![]() |
Fri. 5/11/18 12:53pm
northguineahills:
@annie: I planted in mid-Feb. |
![]() |
![]() I prefer Supertramp to canned mushroom soup. |

![]() |
![]() dan, they're doing a hologram tour |
Fri. 5/11/18 1:03pm
Stevel:
UM: Did you favor ABBA back in HS days? You couldn't miss hearing them.
![]() |
![]() Not a fan in HS. I got on board in the early '80s. |
![]() |
![]() Impossible not to sing along. |
Fri. 5/11/18 1:06pm

![]() |
![]() which set of words? There is more than one. |
![]() |
Fri. 5/11/18 1:07pm
Spaniel:
ha, yeah, I doubt I could make a show but maybe if I get my hologram projector working they can come to me |
![]() |
![]() Uh...words? Maybe "sing" isn't exactly the right word, then. Vocalize along? |
![]() |
![]() i was already way over twenty when abba came along... i loved 'em |
![]() |
![]() "Duh duh duh duh, DUH DUH." |
![]() |
![]() I remember hearing a comedy skit many moons ago about The Theme from Hawaii Five-O Cereal-- "All the excitement of the theme from Hawaii Five-O in every bite!" |
![]() |
![]() "Move" by The Move from Move |

Fri. 5/11/18 1:17pm
Dean:
You say you were gonna play some Triumvirat?
Fri. 5/11/18 1:19pm
dan:
The album was Crime of the Century
Fri. 5/11/18 1:19pm
Stevel:
Triumvirate? [ears perking]
![]() |
![]() Not today! No Gentle Giant either. |

Who gave this woman singing and songwriting lessons? She's terrible at both.
![]() |
![]() Well, I did ask. |
Fri. 5/11/18 1:27pm
Dean:
No Triumvirat, no Gentle Giant. I guess that means no Supersister, either? Seems right.
![]() |
![]() I liked the Haley henderyickkxkx |
![]() |
![]() I dug it too-- I liked how unhinged it got toward the end. |
![]() |
![]() Ahh, love this Stories tune, thanks UM! |
![]() |
![]() I'm planning a move like that. |

Fri. 5/11/18 1:38pm
Dean:
My daughter's name is Olivia. Today, she is a bit lost and turned out, i.e., ill. I'm just grateful she doesn't want a Seville. Ernie Graham a song that shares a name with my son, but it's about a drug dealer.
