Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 12/22/17 12:42pm Rich in Washington:

Mark Lindsay must've been hot stuff in 1970, because I remember all the teenage girls who were teaching assistants in my Kindergarten class asking me over and over if I was related to him because of our shared last name. I remember thinking they were serious and wondering who this Mark guy was.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 12/22/17 12:43pm doctorjazz:

Lindsay very prominent in teen music idol mags in the day.

Imagine the keyboards hauled around the NY streets as the gangs stick and jab and dodge and dance.

Saw Mark Lindsay as part of the Happy Together tour a few years ago. Guy has more energy than Jagger and still sounds great.

Tangentially from nowhere:
My nephew comes home from college I ask him what folks are listening these days. He plays plays me a band called Knocked Loose. I leap up from my chair crying "Sweet Jesus-Moses its the apocalypse and the devil is upon us" Then I think wait I used to listen to Tesco Vee, the Misfits, Negative Approach, Flipper, Minor Threat, SS Decontrol, Big Boys and Big Black. What am I going on about.

Kids these days

@paul b

I'm glad I wasn't brainwashed with today's music. I appreciate the older more musically sound pieces of yesteryear.

Rock and Roll flute. True ear candy
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 12/22/17 2:32pm coelacanth∅:

this is pretty good, but i think the singer couldn't decide whether to sound more like plant or like osbourne. (the 'tull influence is obvious)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 12/22/17 2:33pm Uncle Michael:

I think he sounds disturbingly like Chris Cornell.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 12/22/17 2:33pm joe:

That would explain it Dave The Spazz played it last night. Or am I injecting things that have already been spoken about and I'm just real late to the game.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 12/22/17 2:33pm Uncle Michael:

Nope, you're the first!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 12/22/17 2:33pm joe:

@UM I can hear the Cornell comparison
  Fri. 12/22/17 2:34pm dan:

This has a dash of Colosseum and Seatrain type music.
Avatar Fri. 12/22/17 2:34pm still b/p:

Like klezmer prog for a while there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 12/22/17 2:35pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 12/22/17 2:35pm joe:

@UM if you have never seen DH & Rocksteady 7 and they come your way defiantly worth the night out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 12/22/17 2:36pm coelacanth∅:

no i guess not, but before chris cornell sang like chris cornell.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 12/22/17 2:37pm Uncle Michael:

Thanks for the tip, Joe.

Cornell was born in '64.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 12/22/17 2:39pm coelacanth∅:

right. so probably the jackdaw &/or audience singer wasn't influenced by him.
...maybe the other way round though.
Avatar Fri. 12/22/17 2:40pm ndbob:

excellent show UM - happy holidays everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 12/22/17 2:40pm Uncle Michael:

Probably coincidental. Audience does have at least one other great track...very different.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 12/22/17 2:43pm coelacanth∅:

well i never heard of them, but maybe Cornell was digging deeper.
- i'd like to hear that other one, at some point.
