ST37 PERFORMS
ST37 are the latest point in a long line of Space-Rock madness that stretches back to The 13th Floor Elevators, thru Hawkwind, Chrome, and right on into modern noisemakers like Overhang Party and fellow Texans Vas Deferens Organization. Today's performance marks their 1st trip to the NYC-area in their 17-year career, and we're damn pleased to have them!
With big fat RAT distortion pedals, splooshy synths, heart-attack drums, divine tape loops and metal slide guitar murder, ST37's performance today was nothing less than a grand Janovian catharsis. And here's what the group

1st Set:

  • Curse of the Strained
  • Surfin' With the Shah (Urinals cover)
  • Concrete Island
  • Whistling in Hell

We briefly break up the flow to give the boys a smoke-break...
Children in Adult Jails "The Woody" "ANYMORE?.."
...and back to ST37:

2nd Set:

  • Acetone
  • Palpable
  • Discorporate
  • Sweet Thought

Twas more than a pleasure to welcome ST37 to WFMU today. Thanks to them for coming (and hopefully sending along that tape of Roky Erickson threatening their drummer!). Thanks also to Mr. Fantastic Jesse Cannon for keeping their monstrous noise under control, and Mr. Wonderful Brian Turner for getting them here in the first place!
