From the anals of music history comes Montreal Canadians' skater Guy Lafleur's disastrous foray into hockey-instruction disco. (And yes, that's 'anals' with one 'n'... I use the word advisedly.)
"Scoring", the particular nugget (and I use that word advisedly, too) offered here for your listening displeasure, is pretty representative of the whole album -- Lafleur murdering the English language over some variation on the classic 70s four-on-the-floor beat. Useless fact: the abomination was produced by Gino Soccio, the disco-teur responsible for for 1979's equally forgettable "Dancer".
The sexual undertones on "Scoring" are delicious -- although they're not as homoerotic as on the rest of the record. But hey, do you really want to hear one of hockey's best players intoning "Keep on pushing!", or "If it ever came down to it, I'd get my way in a power play"?
Oh. Then I guess you'll have to find yourself a copy. Don't worry, though. It's easy to spot at any garage sale -- it's the one with the gatefold cover and the shirtless beefcake shots.
