Hello David and Observers. This track sounded so familiar and I was trying to think who it is and how I heard it, which WFMU program and was surprised to recall that Mike Reed and his group were part of this year's Vision Festival which I watched online. Almost as good as seeing in person. Maybe next year.

Looking back, it seems that I will have to catch the first half of the show on the archive. I love the soundtrack of Naked Lunch, which is great late-night listening. Shore wanted to list Ornette as a co-composer, but the composers' union wouldn't allow an improvising soloist to be listed.

David, I understand the Burroughs-Morocco connection, but is there also a tie between him and Jamaica? Or do you just feel like playing that music?

Another musical analogy might be some of those early tape cut-up and looping musical compositions by the likes of Steve Reich (It's Gonna Rain) and Scott Johnson (John Somebody). Impressive work done without digital aids.
