As every stoner math major knows - to the extent that the Oz/DS trick works (which it does only barely), it's just a trivial application of the Birthday Problem - en.wikipedia.org... - that is, same as when you get 23 people in a room and, lo and behold, 2 of them have the same birthday ... get enough stoners alone in their rooms, all over the planet, playing thousands of random combinations of classic rock / hollywood dreck films on top of each other ... sooner or later you're going to stumble upon an (album, film) pair that sort of seems to "align" narratively. I once saw a Chinese dance troupe perform a modern interpretive dance show to Pink Floyd’s “The Wall”. It was at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in LA. By the third song, I realized they were going to play the entire album. I exclaimed to my wife, kinda loudly “Holy fuck! They’re going to play the whole album!” Some old lady n front of me turned around and ‘shusshed!’ me. I told her that she was basically at a Pink Floyd concert now. At intermission (when the put on the 2nd lp), my wife and I went to our car and smoked a joint. The old lady never came back. 3/4 of the theater didn’t return. It was entertaining as hell. Watching a bunch of Chinese dancers jumping around to The Wall while we were high as fuck.

↳ Song: "D.O.A." by "Bloodrock"
Speaking of Bloodrock, I was looking at hiking pants at my local purveyor today, and one brand had a large tag announcing "BloodGuard advanced engineering apparel. Repels blood!" (exclusive of the mesh, natch). How many hikers have a problem of blood attacking their garments? Or is it the hiker's blood that is kept from seeping through and causing problems?

↳ Song: "D.O.A." by "Bloodrock"
I have a Bloodrock story. In my youth I was in Dallas / Ft Worth area in an aspiring garage band a few years after D.O.A. came out. It was a local big hit. Our band scored a concert in a Arlington movie theater that was thinking of doing concerts and we and some other local aspiring band were given a shot, just for the venue to see how it would work for concerts. At the time, besides being in an aspiring band (which costs money) I was doing house renovation work. Usually working 6AM to 3PM.

On the day of the show I was very excited. We had worked up some special material since we were going to be on a stage in a theater instead of a bar. At the time i was a "percussive pianist" but had been a drummer. So with the stage space we set up my drum set along with my piano & organ. The regular drummer set up his vibes along with his drums and we were going to do some swapping of roles.

The bands were going to play after the usual movies, so I knew it was going to be a late night. I thought I should take a nap. Just laid in bed nearly levitating with excitement. So I decided to take a hot bath and took a double dose of some pain med I had got for recent dental work. Got out the bath, laid in bed and sleep came.

Next thing I remember is groggily becoming aware of the phone ringing along with my alarm clock buzzing. Got to the phone. It was about 1AM. My brother is relieved that I answered but the gig was nearly over.

The band had thought I was running late and had played snippets of D.O.A. during their set and each time would all look at my idle drum set & keyboards trying not to laugh and wondered how they would react when I did show up. Time passed and I didn't show up and they began to worry that perhaps I had been in an accident while driving to the gig.

In the end, they were glad my brother was there to pack up my stuff. I retired from being in an aspiring garage band not long after that.

Also, people let avocados go too long, until they get bland and mushy and sometimes outright gross. You have to open them up when the hardness is just starting to give (and the time window for that can be pretty narrow). At any rate: it's not the avocado - it's you.
