I think people (particularly a customer facing business) used to have more patience with callers. The proliferation of spam calls has made most people hang up fairly quick if the call doesn't seem appropriate or make sense.

Mr. Oxford, hello.
Canadians are, ah, hyper polite, generally speaking. Could be a failing, I guess...

Hi Otis
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm
Krys O.:

↳ WR @3:37
I lose count how many spam, robot or telemarketer calls I field at work. We're a small company and we don't have a receptionist. I'm usually answering the phone first because I hate the sound of the endlessly ringing phone. It raises my BP. I can tell within three seconds if it's a junk call kind of like Name That Tune.

Avatar 3:41pm
Mr. Oxford:

↳ WR @3:37
That is understandable. A business's customer service has a lot of patience on phone. I myself worked as a student on customer service of a Best Buy and there was this call I was attending which seemed like a prank call at first. But something about it made me give it a benefit of doubt. ANd sure enough, it was an actual call. It's just that the customer had an ultra strange way of talking and explaining her problem and questions.
Avatar 3:42pm
Otis Fodder:

Hi MH and Hyper and Kat up there with Krys and Fab and over there's Oxford and Rich and Dom with you and you and did I forget you, I'll get ya later on the mic. Telly, oh telly, so gentle.
