What you hear are in fact multiple communication channels all at once. Most people at the controls in "the trenches" only were listening to one channel at the time. Capcom Charlie Duke wa the only one directly speaking to Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.

The "GO" sequence is all about all the people monitoring their little part of the spacecraft systems telling the flight director their system works fine so they are GO for landing.

I've told this story before, but ... in 1970 at my first proper school in Vancouver (aged 5), our headmaster was called ... Neil Armstrong. He was in his last year before retirement and every day *without fail* he would have a small phallanx of small, wide eyed children following him around school. He thought it was delightful and never told us the truth :-)

1202 alarm was a computer error. It once came up in a simulation but was unexpected in flight. It was a computer information overload. It wasn't a fatal problem. but they didn't know at the time.

They had the alarm twice. 1201 and later 1202 ("same type" you hear them say). In the time inbetween someone in the back room had discovered the origin of the problem and decided it wasn't alarming enough to abort the landing.

Coco and I have been enjoying the alternative historical drama show For All Mankind. The Russians land on the moon first, which puts the US space program into a more frantic overdrive.
It's fun to see them work actual theoretical space concepts into the storylines but the show's also becoming progressively silly and melodramatic.

Apollo 11's landing was a rather free and loose attempt. Armstrong overshot the original site and found himself over a big boulder field. He had to fly the lander way further to find a good spot to put the Eagle down safely. Apollo 12 made a pinpoint landing though. Just a few hundred yards from their target.
