Looking forward to today's show. May I put forward an idea for a future program? I think a reading by you of Chapter 1 of Part I of After London, or Wild England, by Richard Jefferies, with interludes of instrumental music, would make a very good High Waisted Modernists. GG, that was a term that Brian Aldiss coined about John Wyndham (and it wasn't meant to be positive), but I think the SF community have kind of since adopted it as a term for weird British sci-fi of the 50s / 60s.
